Franchise model

​With a Franchise you pay many additional fees and are limited by a number of provisions including how you can practice, what you can sell and how you can later sell or transfer your business to someone else. Here are some examples of fees and restrictions of medical franchises (taken from Franchise Disclosure Documents):

  • Limitations on Your Scope of Medical Practice
  • Initial Franchise Fee = up to $125,000
  • Additional Territory Fee = up to $100,000
  • Provider Training Fee = up to $50,000
  • Additional Training fee = up to $25,000 each for additional person trained
  • Intellectual property licensing rights = up to $25,000 every year
  • Monthly Royalty = 6% to 12% of sales or fixed fees up to $8,000+/month
  • Franchisor Controlled Marketing Fund Fee = 3% to 6% of sales
  • Local Advertising Program = 1% to 3% of sales
  • Paid Search campaign service fee = up to 40% of campaign budget
  • Legal Review and Structuring Fees = up to $10,000

  • Transfer Fee (when you want to sell) = $10,000 to $50,000
